Hear from a past recipient of the scholarship
“This scholarship has been a truly transformative experience for our family. The program offers high-level training, including position-specific sessions. For example, there were shooting and guard training sessions run by current and former elite-level players, which provided incredible insight and skill development. One of the most impressive aspects of the VJBL is the inclusive coaching approach. Coaches are able to access inclusion training run by experts, ensuring the program caters to all players, helping all kids build confidence and grow both as athletes and individuals in a supportive environment. While the commitment is significant, it teaches valuable life lessons; game understanding, responsibility, and accountability. Players quickly learn that showing up, listening, and working hard are non-negotiable. A lack of focus can mean reduced game time, which reinforces the importance of discipline in a positive way. The boost in confidence, skill level, and sense of belonging is something every young player deserves. Financially, the scholarship made a huge difference. Basketball comes with a lot of hidden costs — fees, uniforms, tournaments, and extra training sessions. Without the scholarship support, we simply wouldn’t have been able to access this level of development at that point of time. This experience has genuinely changed our child’s life. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity that Vytis has provided, thank you!! ”
